Internet marketing is a business ...
... and you should get into the habit of thinking about it as such.
When you come right down to it, most of the ebooks that are really worth buying present a business plan for you to follow. Hopefully, if you follow it to the letter, you'll be able to emulate the success that the writer has achieved and make money.
That's the theory, but in practice a lot of ebooks that purport to teach you a winning strategy are either poorly written or are thrown togehter by someone who is only spouting what they've read themselves.
Only a very few ebooks are wrtten by people who are really walking the walk or have sufficiently good communication skillls to give you a workable step-by-step plan.
That's where I try to come in for you by reading as many of the ebooks as I can and using my experience and judgement to assess their content beyond the obligatory hype that you'll read in the sales letters. Many ebooks are, quite frankly, a waste of electrons. Either they are too simplistic or they are too confusing. Some are simply wrong.
But every once in a while one comes along that I think stands above the crowd.
They don't come along very often, but when they do, I'll tell you that the time has come to break out the credit card.
Over the years I've recommended surprisingly few ebooks. Some of those have had their moment - either the techiques they taught hare no longer workable, or they have dated in other ways. Some have been surpassed by newer books that cover teh subject even better.
Which leaves a handful that, in my opinion, every serious Internet marketer should read. more than that, they teach strategies and business plans that you should be putting into practice right now. If not, you are leaving money on the table.
- Newbies start here. This is not an ebook for you to buy - it is a practical 8-step plan that I persoanlly use. Experienced Intenet marketers will add all kinds of extra bells and whistles, but this ploan will get you started with the minimum of confusion.
- Super Affiliate handbook. Rosalind gardner made almost half a million dollars in one year and then went on to write a book about how she built her affiliate marketing empire. This book has been around for a while but the principles it teaches are evergreen.
- Niche Marketing on Crack. Andrew Hansen is a young Australian who has hit on a strategy for building an affiliate-based business with the minimum of effort. Well worth reading and even more well worth putting inot action.
- Lead Generation Videos. Mark Vurnum made a killing building AdSense websites. Then, when Google changed the rules he found that his multi hudreds of thousand dollar business sharnk by up to 90%! Undaunted, he looked to see how he could use the skills he'd learned to monetize websites in a completely diferent way. the result was a new business based on selling leads to offline companies that is making Mark more money than his AdSense Empire ever did. he has created a set of no-nonsense, plain-taling videos that explain exactly how he does it and how you can build a similiar buisness.
- Lazy Git Marketing. A simple, but workable (and more important, sustainable) plan for making money even with low traffic sites.
- Easy Member Pro. This is not a 'how-to' ebook. It is a simple, yet powerful set of scripts that allow you to build your own membership website. membership sites are big business rioght now and are considered to be one of thebest ways nline to build a substantial residual income.
